Abstract:   (72 Views)

Urban river valleys, as key ecological elements in cities, play a significant role in natural resource management, flood control, air quality improvement, and the enhancement of social interactions. However, rapid urbanization and land-use changes have led to the degradation of these natural corridors. In this context, urban agriculture emerges as an innovative approach that can contribute to the sustainable regeneration of urban river valleys by leveraging ecosystem services to provide the necessary infrastructure for urban agriculture. This study aims to analyze the role of ecosystem services in establishing urban agriculture infrastructure and evaluate its impact on the sustainable regeneration of urban river valleys. The research follows a descriptive-analytical approach, employing expert surveys and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to assess and prioritize ecosystem services. Additionally, a threshold-based analysis was applied to identify the ecosystem services with the highest contribution to urban agriculture infrastructure. The findings indicate that provisioning and cultural ecosystem services play the most significant role in promoting urban agriculture and can contribute effectively to the sustainable regeneration of urban river valleys. Furthermore, the results highlight that supportive policies, education, and natural resource management infrastructure are crucial factors for the successful implementation of this strategy. This research underscores the importance of integrating ecosystem services into urban policy design and offers recommendations for advancing sustainable urban agriculture within urban river valley landscapes.
